What defines the Steiner brand?

BUILT TO PERFORM WHEN IT MATTERS

Steiner military-specific binoculars and scopes are engineered for sustained performance under demanding operational conditions. Rugged optical construction ensures stability under severe shock and vibration. Makrolon® binocular housings provide high resistance to oils, solvents, heat, cold, UV exposure, and saltwater. One-piece, nitrogen-pressurized 34 mm scope tubes are designed to withstand shock loads of up to 900 G. All optics are fogproof and sealed against dust, dirt, and moisture. All models are waterproof for immersion, with selected systems rated for depths of up to 5 meters. Developed in close cooperation with special forces and experienced weapons specialists, Steiner optics are built to meet strict military requirements and deliver reliable performance in real operational environments.

ERGONOMICALLY DESIGNED

Binoculars are designed to rest securely and comfortably in the hands, featuring rubber-armored housings and ergonomically shaped surfaces that support intuitive operation. Scopes are equipped with adjustable illumination, oversized control knobs, and tactile and audible feedback to enable precise settings and repeatable accuracy. All design elements are developed with a clear focus on ergonomics, supporting reliable handling and operation in demanding real-world environments.

BUILT FOR ABUSE

Steiner lenses and prisms are integrated into robust, rubber-armored Makrolon® polycarbonate binocular housings and seamless, high-strength alloy scope tubes. All systems are purged, sealed, and protected to ensure fog-free operation, water resistance, and high impact tolerance under demanding environmental conditions. Designed for sustained reliability, Steiner optics are engineered to perform consistently under extreme mechanical and climatic stress throughout their service life.

ASSAULTED AND BLASTED BUT NEVER DEFEATED.

During a mission, an armored vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. While the vehicle sustained heavy damage and much of the equipment was destroyed, the personnel inside were able to evacuate safely. Among the remaining functional equipment were Steiner military binoculars. Despite visible structural damage caused by heat and impact, the optical and prism systems remained intact and operational. This outcome did not come as a surprise to the operators. Steiner military optics are engineered to maintain functionality under extreme mechanical and environmental stress. Designed for real operational use, they continue to perform when equipment failure is not an option.
